Final Reflection question
1. What have I learnt in this module?
In this module, I learned the basic principles of design, including contrast, balance, symmetry, proportion, hierarchy, rhythm, and visual guidance. Especially in the use of color, composition techniques and the arrangement of elements, I have gained a deeper understanding of how to enhance visual impact through design principles.
2. What did I enjoy the most?
What I enjoy most about appreciating artwork and studying the design principles in a work of art is that it not only allows me to appreciate artistic expression, but also to gain a deeper understanding of how artists use design principles to enhance the emotional and visual impact of their work.
3. What did I not enjoy the most?
What I don't like the most is finding a balance between theory and practice. Although studying the principles of design has helped me understand how to create more attractive images, in the actual creative process, I sometimes overthink the theory and ignore the intuitive expression of the work.
4. What have I learnt about myself through this module?
Through this module, I found myself leaning more towards emotional design, liking to convey stories and emotions through strong colors and light and shadows. I also realized that I was more perfectionist in the details of my design, but sometimes I struggled with small elements that affected the overall efficiency.
5. What has changed and what has not in my learning journey?
With a deeper understanding of the visual hierarchy, it is now possible
to arrange the focus of the picture more consciously rather than placing
elements at random on instinct.
Begin to pay more attention to the visual guidance of the audience, and
will consider how to use composition and light and shadow to allow the
audience's eyes to naturally focus on the important elements.
6. What are my aspirations?
In the Design Principles course, my vision is to be able to deeply understand the core principles of design and flexibly apply them to my creations. I hope to not only stay at the theoretical level, but also to truly explore through practice. In addition, I hope to develop a keener observation in the learning process, be able to draw inspiration from excellent design cases, and train myself to analyze the design logic behind the work. Ultimately, I hope that this course can lay a solid foundation for my future development.
