Illustration poster - My TIGER Values Art Competition 2023

We plan to participate in the Values Art Competition organized by the Maybank Foundation My TIGER in 2023 to submit our works to them.

For Project 2, we aim to communicate our project objectives through the submission of illustrated posters, while building on the core values of Maybank TIGER: teamwork, integrity, growth, excellence and efficiency, and building relationships.

We can choose from one of the twelve themes provided to present our creativity.

My topic: Underwater life

The story behind the poster: On this dreamy and mysterious night, we gather by the star-lit sea.

The moon cast a gentle light and stars dotted the night sky.

However, this beautiful sight hides a worrying fact.

The shells in the sea are being damaged by pollution.

Description of the content of the poster: on the top left of the poster is a bright shell with a conch hanging down.

The light of the moon lit up a sea.

In the moonlight, the tiny, beautiful shells form an art-like pattern.

These shells exude brilliant colors and glories, representing the beauty of nature and the treasure of life.

In stark contrast, the bottom of the poster depicts a dirty ocean scene.

Food waste, waste and chemicals contaminate the water, contaminate shells and flood the otherwise clear ocean floor.

The squalid scene contrasts strongly with the dreamy stars and moon above, highlighting the damage we have done to the ocean and the danger the shells are in.

Hope to generate a call to action: At the edge of the poster, we call on everyone to join in the action to protect the ocean.

The words "Let us cherish the shells of the sea as we cherish the stars and guard their brilliance and the treasure of the sea." emphasize our mission.

We encourage people to reduce their use of plastics, dispose of waste properly and support ocean clean-up activities.

Through these actions, we can preserve the beauty of shells and Marine ecosystems, leaving a cleaner, healthier ocean for future generations.

Let us work together with the moon and stars to keep the shell shining in the clear water.

Protect the ocean and create a better future for our Earth home.

REFLECTIONS

In the learning process, I focused on the application of poster design and 3D effects.

For poster design, I learned how to use different shapes, colors, and fonts to create visually appealing layouts.

I also learned to use various tools to edit and adjust the poster to achieve the desired effect.

For 3D effects, I learned how to use shapes and gradients to create a sense of dimensionality and make the image look more vivid and appealing.
